The cat's garden throw (2023)
A headstrong visitor has appeared in our garden — a black-and-white cat.
The creature seems to spend a lot of time in our yard, but usually we don’t even notice it until one of us accidentally scares it away by opening the front door.
The creature seems to spend a lot of time in our yard, but usually we don’t even notice it until one of us accidentally scares it away by opening the front door.
The cat doesn’t understand where it is allowed to go and where not. It’s like a little anarchist who doesn’t care whose yard is whose or where the property lines are. Inspired by this visitor to our backyard, the illustration “The Cat’s Garden” was born.
The design was created for an industrially woven jacquard to be used as a wall hanging or a throw for napping.

Saaristo Throw (2022)
When I was 17 years old, I made a week-long biking trip to the Åland archipelago with my friend. Back then, the trip had a huge impact on me, and I was in awe of the beauty of the archipelago: there were rustic boat sheds, beautiful cliffs, blooming flowers on the shores, and cute wooden houses… The archipelago truly is like its own separate world. Inspired by those memories and Tove Jansson’s Kesäkirja (The Summer Book), which also tells a story about life on an island, I decided to design
the Saaristo throw. When feeling stuck in ordinary everyday life, the throw can take one on a little imaginary trip to the archipelago.

The throw can be worn as an oversized scarf, as a throw, or even used as a decorative wall piece. The color combination comes from the scenery of Åland:
the pinkish-red asphalt and the dark blue of the sea.

The throw was industrially knitted by Kutomo Holopainen.
